Bursting Abortion Stigma through Radio - Drama

Join Dr. Frances Eremutha, Dr. Vera Gabriel Chizoba, and Ms. Rosemary Adejohy of Women Friendly Initiative (Nigeria)! Their inroads Partnership Fund project explored the use of 24- serialized radio-based drama program to showcase the varied reasons women choose abortions, addressed popular myths and misconceptions that fuel stigma, amplify the Nigerian legal provisions and exceptions for provision of safe abortion services and tested how exposure to these messages over a period of time reduced abortion stigma especially amongst students, academicians and administrators in a Nigerian University.

Abortion is Normal: A Discussion about How We Define Abortion for September 28th (BYOQ)

To observe the Global Day of Action for Access to Safe and Legal Abortion, inroads is partnering with WGNRR to explore the ways in which we experience and define abortion. Melissa Madera of The Abortion Diary Podcast, Phylis Mbeke of Women Spaces Africa, and many other inroads members will be gathering to discuss what it means for abortion to be "normal" or "rare" or "private" or "public" and all other meanings we might have. The Story Circle Project: a new intervention for bringing women together to reduce abortion stigma

Story Circles are a new and successful intervention that brings women together, reduces abortion stigma in Mexico and contributes to positively re-signify this decision for participants. In this webinar, join Madeleine Belfrage of Equidad de Género to hear about their experiences of carrying out Story Circles in four states of Mexico. You can also learn about the foundations and methodology that the Circles are based on, and how to implement a Circle in your own context.

Difficult Conversations about Abortion

Planning Your Stigma-busting Project Webinar

The Abortion Conversation Project offers a webinar for members who are planning a project to reduce stigma. Join inroads members Peg Johnston and Jeanne Ludlow for this interactive session highlighting key steps for planning your stigma-busting project. ACP has been supporting seed grants for stigma-busting projects in the United States and globally, and have offered this content to potential applicants. ACP and inroads are teaming up to share this session with inroads members and a focus on inroads member needs!
